After all the rabbits who wanted a go, had a go, the swan walked up on the river bank and sat amongst the rabbits and said, “now that you've sseen a ssafe way to get to the other sside of the river, would you care for a vote on that matter, sseeing ass you have come thiss far?”
The rabbit who said he was scared said he would like to go home, so the swan said ”O.K. A going home vote insstead!” The littlest rabbit then piped up, “I think we should have a stay here and talking to sswan vote!” The white rabbit said he agreed with the littlest voter. “Eh do I vote sso?” asked the swan who couldn't but stay with herself and wasn't quite sure if she could talk to herself. Another vote for a going home vote popped up from somewhere else, added to by a I'm hungry vote. The white rabbit noticed that the littlest rabbits ears were not pointing in the same direction and said “I think that given all the different votes, that I'll take all those rabbits home who want to go home, and all those who want to stay can stay.” It wasn't long till the swan heard a few goodbyes and was left to a conversation with the littlest rabbit, who had a bit of a squeeky voice.
“Do you often get out of the river?” asked the littlest rabbit
“Well you ssee, ass a sswan, I can sswim, dive, walk and fly and each are different wayss of moving to a different place. But when I'm in the ssky or in the river it iss very hard to not move, whereass when Im not walking on the ground, I'm stuck in the one place, and all the things I would normally see moving, move in a different way”.
“What is it like to fly?” asked the littlest rabbit, before interrupting himself to ask, “is it the same as swimming?”
The swan thought for a bit then replied, “Do you know I don't think I could put it into words but they are not the same as each other, because it is hard to move slowly in the sky, and it is hard to move quickly in the water. Diving is slower still”.
